All Together For One

In our society, it is rare for any organization or group of people to be all together for the same purpose or the same desires. This is a difficult task for a small group of people, much less a large one. However, when we get to Heaven, this group around the throne will have one purpose and one desire, and it will be the largest group ever to be all together for one.

In Revelation 7:9-12, we see so many people that no man can number them. John sees them and doesn’t attempt to count. He was viewing all the redeemed in Heaven. This must have been an overwhelming site. John sees people from every nation. This teaches us that the gospel will be spread throughout the earth. All kindred would imply those descended from a common ancestry or a race of people. All languages will be represented, but we will all understand one another. We’ll have communication that will not be hindered by the tongue. We will all stand before the throne of the Lamb in white robes. Jesus the Lamb will be the focus. He is in the middle, surrounded by those redeemed by His blood. They will hold palms, an emblem of praise, just as it was when Jesus rode into Jerusalem, but this time, there will be no change in their praise. He will be forever praised and glorified as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He will be in His rightful place.

Rev 7:9  After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

All will be saying loudly, “Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne and unto the Lamb.” Those around the throne thank God for their deliverance from eternal death to eternal life. They are Thanking Him for their deliverance from danger and persecution, from a death that never ends, a death in Hell where the pain never stops—pains much greater than we can ever imagine. They attribute this great salvation to Him alone.

Rev 7:10  And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

In verse 11, we find the angels present, the elders, and the four beasts. All are worshiping God, but in my imagination, the angels and beasts are astounded by the worship of those who have been redeemed. The redeemed have a song that no other being can sing. We have a gratitude that cannot be fully expressed, and they cannot fully comprehend it because they cannot experience what it is like to be doomed to Hell and now stand in the presence of God as His child forever! We are saying, “Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God forever and ever. Amen.”

Revelation 7:11-12 “And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God forever and ever. Amen.”

This picture of Heaven is what I think of when the world we know has ended, and all the saints will gather around the throne. This is why I chose New York City for a vacation years ago. There is a church in Brooklyn with a choir that represents this picture. Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir comprises people from every part of the world. There are African Americans, Middle Easterns, Asians, Hispanics, Indians, Caucasians, and any other people group you can think of from all over the world. They speak with different dialects. They come from various economic and educational backgrounds.  Some are doctors, professors, scientists, former prostitutes, drug dealers, drug addicts, former pedophiles, and on and on I could go, but they have all been redeemed and are worshiping God in one voice. This is what it will be like around the throne. We will all be one together! It will not matter what your past was before salvation. All that matters is that you have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus. You surrendered your life to His control and desire to please Him now and forever.

Just writing this makes me excited, grateful, humbled, and extremely jubilant all at the same time. I long for Jesus to return to take us home with Him. If He does not come in my lifetime, then I’ll meet the rest of you in Heaven. I know I have loved ones there. I know it is a place of unsurpassed beauty, but don’t look for me in those areas. If you want to find me, look for Jesus; that’s where I’ll be! I honestly don’t think you’ll be looking for anyone either. I believe we’ll be all together as one, worshiping the One who made it possible.
