Mountain Moving Prayers

Have you ever experienced “Mountain Moving” prayers? Mountain-moving prayers require mountain-moving faith! A faith that is not based on hearsay, but on personal knowledge. It is the knowledge that is based on God’s word, not a verse or phrase you have heard here and there, but truth gained from reading, studying, and connecting with God alone. Mountain moving prayer is the prayer that is filled with faith because faith pleases God.

Hebrew 11:6 “But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

God’s word is our chief contact with him. It is Him talking to us.  It is our connection with truth. It is what prepares us to know what to pray and how to pray so that it will be answered. He left us with his ways, his thoughts, and his bond. He tells us in Jerimiah 33:3 to call on him and that he will answer. He delights in our prayers. We are to come boldly before the throne of grace and find mercy in time of need. He feels everything we feel. Our pain from sickness, our sorrow for a wayward child, or the grief we feel over the loss of a loved one. Jesus feels our pain and when we have needs we are to not just bring them to him, but to do it boldly!

Hebrews 4:15 &16 “For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

The greatest experience we can ever have on this earth is to know God. A personal God. One that truly cares about me and my needs.

There have been many times I have experienced joy as I have seen requests become, not just possible, but reality. These realities come in a world where doctors can explain almost every situation that we have medically. Yet, there are times they can’t help us at all, times when only God can take care of things. It is a world where logic takes over, and still a world where multitudes of things happen that are unexplainable. A world where there is destruction and sorrow on every corner, and somehow we find an escape from the destruction and sorrow. In these situations, my God chooses to show himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are found blameless or perfect before him.

II Chronicles 16:9a “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong on the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.”

Those who do not know Jesus can only experience our words as we brag on our God. They cannot feel the joy we have or celebrate the victory God brings. Oh, they may be happy for what my God has done, but they cannot feel the joy of knowing “that was my God that did that.”

When was the last time you knew God answered your prayer? A prayer that seemed hopeless to pray, but you prayed it anyway because your heart was burdened, and your mind was fixed on the power of God to answer. God wants to answer our prayers if we will be fervent in our praying and believe that He can and will answer. In James 5:16b, it is the effectual fervent prayer that yields much. The Greek word for effectual is a word that means a prayer that has power. It is a power that is fueled by the head and the heart. It is not a prayer that is repeated out of duty or habit. It is a prayer from a heart that needs to see God move. It is earnest and sincere. This prayer will be fruitful because the one praying is in right standing with God before the need arises. Can you say your life exhibits righteous living that is required of one who God can answer with mountain-moving prayer?

James 5:16b  “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
