Every day is a new day, a gift from God that cannot be changed once it is over. Most of us plan our day, or rather, it plans us, meaning there are some appointments and responsibilities we cannot change. So, what is in your day today?
I hope you have taken the time when planning or looking at your schedule to see how you can glorify Christ in your day. In I Corinthians 10:31, we are told that everything we do is to glorify God. We are to live so that everything we do gives the right opinion of who He is. We are to honor Him as our Creator, Redeemer, and Savior. We are to embrace the gospel. We should feel as if we could shout it from the rooftops. We should act in a way that is so respectful, appreciative, and honoring that it affects those around us. If they are not saved, they should wonder or ask, “What’s different about you?”
I Corinthians 10:31 “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”
In Psalm 118:24, we are taught that God made every day, and we are to rejoice in it. Sometimes that may be hard because of the circumstances that life allows us to experience. However, even in times of sickness and trial, there is something we can be thankful for. We must keep in mind that this life is not our final destination. We need to look to Heaven and know and think about all that is ours to come. What happens today, no matter what it is, should not cloud our view. We must train ourselves to look daily at all God has done and what He is preparing for us. Doing this daily will train us to be grateful in times when we don’t feel like rejoicing. A grateful Christian can be sorrowing deeply while grateful. We have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us to comfort us. There is nothing on this earth that should take away the joy that we have in Christ.
Psalm 118:24 “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Think about today. How will you handle challenges and disappointments? Will you practice joy and gratitude today? Preparing our hearts today makes us ready for the days ahead. We can be grateful Christians or grumbling ones. We can hurt, yet praise or complain. Before you go to bed, ask God to help you be thankful tomorrow. In the morning, remind yourself to be grateful today. Every day, you have a choice, and it is yours alone to make.
